I've always been a fan of Sesame Street. I think it sucks however that a show that generally teaches kids about numbers, letters, reading and other things gets so much criticism. I grew up watching the Cookie Monster chow down on numerous cookies and I did not turn into an obese individual because of my snacking. I think that if parents believe that something as simple as a TV show is going to shape their children's views then they need to get their kid out of the house and away from the TV..start interacting with them. I'm sorry but any 5 year old that says "Well I'm not going to watch Fox news because it's trashy," is far beyond other kids their age and maybe his/her parents should introduce him/her to more intellectually challenging shows or activities. I doubt that any kid watching Sesame Street really picks up on most of the inuendos the show has regarding politics or other issues.
