Secret Copyright Treaty: Leaked

In regards to DRM, copyright law, and net neutrality, this article shows brings up a leaked government agreement. Whether you know it or not I'm sure nearly everyone has broken at least one of these points. It will be really scary if this thing ever gets off the ground.

  1. Scary, scary stuff. Hopefully, now that it's out in the open, it won't stand a chance of getting anywhere. However, it does bring one interesting question to my mind... why do we even need ISP's to connect to the Internet? Why can't I just run my own servers and act as my own ISP?

  2. I've heard about this. ISP's having to police their networks is an interesting concept. I'm not sure how effective it will be. Though there is no way you could be your own ISP because you need to connect to the cables that run the internet to everywhere else. Unless you plan on buying the lines somehow, you aren't going to be able to be your own ISP.
