Basically the article states how American newspapers and magazines are debating whether or not to stop selling their product in Britain. American companies are also considering blocking British access to their websites as well. In America, the first amendment gives us freedom of speech, however, in Britain that is not the case. American newspapers and magazines have been in trouble before due to libel because what is printed in America that is considered okay is not okay in Britain. What is published follows different rules there and American companies have been repeatedly sued for this. Libel as we learned in class the other day is saying something that is untrue. American entertainment magazines and newspapers that focus on celebrities often fabricate or over-exaggerate stories in order to make their product profitable and sell-able.

I would just stop letting people from the UK see the articles or the entire paper. Its not like the companies are making money off selling that many papers. Although I dont agree with the law it is there country and they can do what they want

I think that the internet is free game for newspaper articles in other countries (considering there could be worse things available online). The newspaper companies are making money off the 250 newspapers, but probably not enough to really make a profit (Paying to have them shipped, and the hotels paying a high price for them). I dont know how much the newspaper they're refeering to costs, but the only newspaper my family purchases regularly is "The Post Standard," which is based out of Syracuse. It's the same news, just not as pricey. But back to Britain...If it offends, or doesn't follow British law, they should be able to abolish that newspaper. So what if they'll be the only country that doesn't have American paper avaiable. This day in age you can access internet from almost anywhere, and I dont think I've been to a single hotel that hasent had a computer.
