Has the NFL Gone to Far?

If you do not know the events that occurred over this weekend this video shows Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams giving the middle finger to the Buffalo Bills sideline after the Titans beat the Bills. Now after the news about this came out ESPN and other sports shows were soon talking about it. In the sports media this drew a lot of sports analysis to discuss if Bud should be fined for his actions or not. Many of them agreed that yes his actions were not needed and that he should be fined by the NFL. The NFL finally dud come out and decided to fine Bud $250,000 for his actions at the Stadium on Sunday. Granted he is the owner of a football team and has a lot of money. But I would like to ask has the NFL gone to far? Many people have said he was doing this to Terrel Owens and not the entire Bills Team. Hey, maybe he just did something that the rest of American has wanted to say to TO anyways. I am curious to see what people think.

Here is the link for the video:

  1. He definitely deserved the fine, and the amount isn't excessive for how much he's worth, and the fact his team is worth almost a billion by itself. The game meant a lot to him and Ralph (2 of the old AFL rivals and original owners), and he let his emotion get to him in the wrong way. At the end of the day you have to show class.

  2. I would have to agree with Corey. Even though the fine is a little hefty, a representative of the NFL like Bud should be more careful with his actions. Lately it seems that the NFL has been pushing and enforcing good sportsmanship, therefore it seems logical that they would put the hammer down on this man

  3. Alright so i agree his actions were very careless and didn't represent the Titans well but i like a quarter of a million dollars is way too much. He flipped the birdies to the crowd and in past instances that has not waranted a 250,000 dollar fine. The NFL had defaintely gone too far this time.

  4. I agree that the NFL is becoming more strict as each year passes. Sometimes this frustrates me, especially when a player gets penalized for celebrating a touchdown. But, I feel that these rules only can help the NFL. I think by having these fines and punishments, the NFL is keeping out unwanted behavior, and makes watching the game more enjoyable.
