Talk about quenching thirst.... this is Vitamin Water's new Ad in conjunction with the movie New Moon from the Twilight series. This is a good example of how products and movies come together to promote each other's material.

It is funny because this movie and product have nothing to do with each other. It seems to be a trend.
ReplyDeleteSimilar things to this do seem to be becoming very common with completely unrelated products working together. This reminds me that if you look at almost any fast food place they commonly have a sponsor that has it's product written all over the bags and cups. Also the kids meals always have a toy that is related to a recent movie or some other type of advertisement.
ReplyDeleteYes, this "teaming up" of products to help each other sell can be seen all over the place lately. It reminds me of the celebrity appearance strategy: they are counting on the fact that some people will think the product is "cool by association."
ReplyDeleteI think that this advertisement is pretty amazing. Just think about all the Twighlight fans, and how many people are now drinking that drink. Younger teens will see this advertisement and may feel like if they drink this, they will be cooler. What I thought about is how much Vitamin water paid just to have that Saga. Advertising companies a lot of money just to get their product out there.
