Even 4 months after his death one website is still releasing new articles almost on a daily basis. The articles are about events that his family and other events that are generating Jackson more fame. The article released on the 18th isn't about any specific event just everything that is going on related to Jackson.

The reason I think Michael Jackson is still in the news is because there has to be some niche consumer base that is demanding that specific content.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, there would be zero traffic to these sites and their corresponding articles and thus anyone with an ounce of data analysis experience would stop writing about Michael Jackson, in my opinion.
Being still in the news probably has to do with the fact that there isnt someone else as popular doing erratic things to replace him. It is unfortunate that the media just cannot leave him alone, in my opinion that is just disrepectful.
ReplyDeleteWhat I am interested about with michael jackson is his new movie. It seems that when someone dies their popularity shoots up at least for a small time. For instance when Heath Ledger died the Dark Knight got an unbelievable amount of free publicity and that movie has done pretty well for itself (not saying it is all due to that). However lets see if Michael Jackson's film does well.
ReplyDeleteMichael Jackson's still being in everyday media just helps people understand why he may have had some of the problems in his life that he did. If those that were is fans and even those that weren't can't leave him be in death, I can't imagine the scrutiny he experienced when he was alive. I myself though don't see what all the buzz is about. He was just another entertainer. It's time to move on and cover stories that still pertain to the living.
