Product placement, and the flow of movies.

Although this video does not reference too much about product placement it hits the point that product placement just fits. When I watched the movie I didn’t pick up on it because it just flowed with the movie.

  1. I know what you mean. In movies today, we as a consumer society barely even notice anymore, unless its extremely obvious. In Casino Royale, Sony has its products absolutely ever where and its noticeable. (blu-ray security system? haha) In other movies though, I couldn't even begin to guess at what was product placed, because I wasn't paying that close of attention and/or, as you said, they are seamlessly integrated into the film.

  2. Yea, this is a funny video. But it is true, advertising is everywhere. We are inundated with advertising for products whether we are walking to the store or driving by bill boards, watching a tv show with commercials or watching a movie with product placement. Corporations have figured out how to place advertisements for their products in almost every aspect of our lives.

  3. I actually do notice a lot of product placement in movies I watch. I don't know why, but I find it interesting to see what products and brands find their way into movies and how they are used. Funny clip by the way.

  4. I think product placement has its good points and bad. For one, I would rather see someone in a movie holding a Pepsi rather than then holding a can that said soda on it. It gives movies more of a realistic look when they are used that way. But some movies do push it too much. Transformers is one example of that. GM offered 3Million dollars supposedly to be used in that film. It was a little much, but that is how the film industry is today.
